Buzzworks officially acquires first hotel amid expansion plan

🏨 Scottish hospitality operator Buzzworks will acquire the Nether Abbey Hotel in North Berwick in mid-January, marking its first venture into accommodation. The hotel, a family-run establishment for over 60 years, will undergo a seven-figure refurbishment, transforming it into a venue with 12 rooms, a pub, and a restaurant. Construction is set for spring 2026, with reopening in late 2026. The redevelopment will create 25-45 jobs, retaining current staff during refurbishment. Buzzworks aims to expand its presence in East Lothian.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton to Debut in Sub-Saharan Africa With Three Signings

On December 22, 2025, agreements for three properties were signed: The Sterling Hotel in South Africa (111 rooms), Ava Hotel in Kenya (91 rooms), and Zaria Court Kigali in Rwanda (80 rooms). Zaria Court Kigali opens this year; The Sterling Hotel in 2027. Hilton plans to expand from 64 to over 160 hotels in Africa. Aleph Hospitality will manage properties in Kenya and Rwanda.

Omni Hotels opens in Fort Lauderdale

Ayrshire coast hotel to create 30 jobs ahead of spa opening
