Tokyu Corporation and Tokyu Hotels and Resorts will manage the transition, emphasizing engagement through local events and cultural experiences to attract tourists. The reopening follows pandemic disruptions in international services.

🏨 Aykley Group opens a £2.3m boutique aparthotel in Durham's city centre, featuring four themed suites: Marrakesh, Peking, Andorra, and Pioneer. The project involved a £815k acquisition and a £1.5m refurbishment of a former Court Inn site. The ground floor will host The Court, a restaurant and bar managed by local operators. Imad Ali, CEO, emphasizes the unique luxury experience and the group's commitment to Durham's growth as a destination.

🏨 Fairfield by Marriott celebrates a milestone with its 100th hotel opening in Greater China, specifically in the Nan’an District of Chongqing. Since entering the market in 2017, Fairfield has added 50 hotels within two years, with plans for new locations, like Zhangjiajie, by 2026. The Chongqing hotel features 182 rooms, a restaurant, and a 24-hour fitness center. Located at No. 9 Jiangnan Avenue, it is easily accessible from Chongqing North Station and Nanping Metro Station.

Located in central Palm Beach Gardens, near I-95, the 160-room hotel recently renovated its guestrooms and plans a major lobby and food and beverage outlet renovation. CEO Anthony Rutledge and Managing Partner Joseph Lubeck anticipate enhancing the property's value and expanding HEI's presence in the Southeast.

🏨 Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence, reopened on April 28, 2026, after an 18-month renovation. Located in the Fiesole hills, the hotel now features 39 redesigned rooms and suites, a Guerlain spa, and restored gardens. Renovations include 27 suites and 12 rooms by Luigi Fragola Architects. Guests can enjoy new dining options and curated wellbeing experiences. The gardens cover over 10,000 square meters, and the property offers seasonal programs like yoga and sound healing.

🏖 Waco Surf plans a new 450-acre luxury community, "The Desperado," in Texas, featuring 88 homes, with residents moving in by summer 2027. Homes are designed by FIRMAH Architecture and 3D-printed by ICON. The community includes 44 standalone homes and 44 duplex townhomes, plus surf lagoons, a 13-hole golf course, and other amenities. Vehicles will be limited, with paths for golf carts and bikes. The development targets water neutrality by 2027 through water capture systems.
