Hyatt reports business travel surge, eyes growth in 2025

💰 Hyatt's Q4 business travel revenue grew by 10% year-over-year, with full-year growth at 12%. On Feb 18, 2025, CEO Mark Hoplamazian noted demand increases across IT, banking, consulting, and pharma industries. Corporate group demand outpaced association groups. Q4 saw a RevPAR of $140.87 (+5%), ADR of $204.40 (+1.8%), and occupancy of 68.9% (+2.1pp). For the full year, RevPAR was $142.48 (+4.6%). Hyatt projects a 2%-4% RevPAR increase for 2025 and announced a $2.6 billion Playa Hotels & Resorts acquisition.

Travel buyers cite ’24 growth, optimism for ‘25

[UPDATE] Hotel groups see strong growth in 2024, with continued expansion in 2025

🏨 In 2024, major hotel groups like Hyatt, Hilton, Choice Hotels, Marriott, and Radisson reported growth, with plans to open thousands of new rooms. Hyatt's global pipeline includes 138,000 rooms, with 30+ properties set to open in 2025. Hilton added over 973 hotels and nearly 100,000 rooms in 2024, with a pipeline of 3,600 hotels and 498,500 rooms. Choice Hotels opened 61 extended stay hotels in 2024, including the 500th WoodSpring Suites. Marriott signed over 1,200 deals, adding 120,000 rooms, with a development pipeline of 577,265 rooms across 3,766 properties. Radisson added nearly 40,000 rooms in 2024, with its Radisson Collection brand growing to nearly 70 hotels.
