Luxury Dublin hotel switches on to Philips MediaSuite TVs to deliver ‘next generation hospitality’ and entertainment to guests

Housed in the heart of Dublin, Philips MediaSuite TVs have been selected to deliver highly personalised entertainment choices and experiences, including built in casting and streaming, while eliminating paper waste, inside all 150 modern guestrooms at The Chancery Hotel.

Amsterdam, 19 May 2026: PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays, is excited to announce its market leading range of Philips MediaSuite TVs has been selected to deliver ‘next generation’ entertainment and experiences to all 150 guestrooms at The Chancery Hotel in Dublin.

Located in the heart of the capital, four star rated The Chancery Hotel boasts one of the city’s most prestigious postcodes, with historic venues, such as Dublin Castle and Trinity College – whose notable students have included Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde – among those located a stone’s throw from its entrance. In fact, Time Out Magazine last year voted the area as one of the ‘world’s coolest’ neighbourhoods.

Already a certified LEED Gold Hotel, The Chancery Hotel’s owners clasp an unrelenting commitment to setting new standards for visitors, whether for those dining in its restaurant, enjoying a drink in the cocktail bar, being pampered in the wellness hub, or spending the night in one of its modern and sophisticated guestrooms.

When it comes to quality and comfort, together with design and operational efficiency, there is simply no compromise – with technology playing an increasingly influential role in the experience and for reviews.

Maximising efficiencies

With mod cons coming as standard in guestrooms – such as bedside USB ports and VDA controlled blinds and lighting – The Chancery Hotel’s owners sought a state of the art TV system to create a memorable and elevated experience in an already busy marketplace, while ensuring exceptional energy efficiency as part of its sustainability commitments.

Teaming up with VDA Telkonet – one of the largest global players in the field of smart room technology for hospitality – the Philips MediaSuite TV (55HFL5214U) was immediately identified as the only global offering capable of meeting The Chancery Hotel’s high ambitions for quality, versatility and sustainability.

Barry Francis, Commercial Director, The Chancery Hotel, commented: “The main features we were looking for at The Chancery Hotel were a cutting edge, best in the market, top shelf TV system, with superior quality and sustainability benefits built in.”

Tailored experiences

Becoming the latest in an ever growing number of premium hotels and resorts around the world switching on to Philips MediaSuite, a fleet of 150 TVs were installed, creating the ultimate home away from home experience in every guest room. All Philips MediaSuite TV’s feature built in casting – a technology PPDS was the first to introduce back in 2019.

Eliminating unsightly wiring and risk of theft from dongles, guests have the freedom to cast their personal content – films, music, gaming and more – using their own devices, via their preferred streaming platforms, directly onto the hotel TV without extra hardware or software configurations.

With an easy and intuitive menu interface, fully tailored around the branding and needs of The Chancery Hotel, all Philips MediaSuite TVs are integrating with VDA’s Micromaster room management system, enabling the full control of in room facilities, including lighting, HVAC, and blinds.

Taking paper off the menu

In addition, the TVs now offer opportunities to communicate messages, including facilities, menus and other marketing, directly to guests, helping eliminate paper in the room, and further contributing to energy savings for the hotel.

Taking sustainability a step further, Philips MediaSuite TVs also receive regular software updates, allowing the hotel to benefit from the latest features and functionality, extending the lifetime of their investment and keeping up with modern needs and trends.

The reviews are in

The introduction of Philips MediaSuite TVs has been hailed as a complete success by The Chancery Hotel management teams and – most importantly – by guests, with one reviewer describing the TV  as ‘amazing’, and, remarking on the size, making it feel like you are ‘in a cinema.’

Barry added: “We have already seen positive reviews coming in from our customers about our enhanced technology and overall guest experience with our new Philips MediaSuite TVs. Our customers are just in love with the TVs since we installed them.

“Absolutely, I would recommend PPDS and Philips hospitality displays as a one stop shop for all your needs for installing a TV system in a hotel.

Kendra Ingram, UK Business Manager at PPDS, commented: “The team at The Chancery Hotel had the benefit of a blank canvas to create their vision. Their primary objectives? To create an unparalleled guest experience in Dublin’s highly competitive and bustling hospitality landscape. Blending cutting edge technology with exceptional design, all while enabling seamless operations and a continuing commitment to sustainability, which influences every decision.”

Kendra concluded: “Many four and five star hotels are turning to Philips MediaSuite as these TVs are the best in the market for energy efficiency, roughly 30-40%more energy efficiency compared to our nearest competitors. It’s something we take seriously, and we’re delighted that more establishments, like The Chancery Hotel, are taking this seriously, too.”
