Encouraging action and education into the future, the new ‘Professional Displays Sustainability Update’ from PPDS – published this month – shares the latest developments in the year that marked a defining moment in the company’s sustainability journey, inspiring action and change in the AV industry.

Amsterdam, May 2026: PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays and complementary solutions, is proud to announce the release of its latest ‘Professional Displays Sustainability Update’, reporting on the latest results, innovations, and future commitments to support and inspire a more sustainable AV industry.

Described as a ‘defining year’ for the company, 2025 saw PPDS accelerate its commitments to deliver high quality, low energy professional displays and solutions, while taking significant strides to help educate and inspire business and future generations on the importance of sustainable technology and operations.

Continually working to improve its global footprint, PPDS takes a circular approach to technology, aiming to reduce impacts across all operations, from the factory floor to post installation. This is achieved, in part, by finding new ways to minimise environmental impacts through the design, manufacturing, and delivery (including packaging) of its products, with teams following six principles of future proof product thinking – reduce, reuse, repair, refurbish, recycle and re-invent.

The journey continues

What started for PPDS several years ago as a series of targeted initiatives, evolving into a strategic priority, has now moved beyond strategy into something more transformative – resulting in a powerful phase shift in how sustainability is understood, implemented, and expanded across our operations and partner ecosystem.

Stefan van Sabben, Global Director of CSR and Sustainability at TPV, commented: “It is our mission to consistently raise the bar when it comes to our own business impact on our planet. We are continuing to review and reduce our carbon emissions, our waste, and our consumption of energy and of natural resources, as well as the impact of our products.”

He continued: “As a responsible business, and as a part of TPV, circularity and sustainability have been a part of our DNA at PPDS and our Philips Professional Displays for many years. These are aspects that are proactively considered in everything we do, including selection of materials and manufacturing processes, where we are manufacturing, and how we are doing business – what we frame as ‘processes, products, and people’.

Pioneering change

As communicated previously – and as can be seen on Philips Booth C9000 at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas (13-19 June) – PPDS has made significant strides in supporting its partners and customers in achieving their sustainability ambitions and targets. A key part of this is the continued development and delivery of market leading, and highly innovative low – or even zero – energy displays, bringing new opportunities and instant sustainability benefits.

2025 marked an extension of this strategy, with the introduction of brand new products, such as the Philips Unite LED 6000 Series – reinventing how existing technologies perform through reengineering and lateral thinking design.

Other products available as part of this strategy include the Philips Tableaux ePaper display range – the technology for which Philips was a pioneer over 20 years ago, with PPDS becoming the first global display provider to launch into this growing market back in 2023 – and the Philips Signage 3650 EcoDesign, which uses up to 70% less energy compared to comparable offerings by competitors, in 2025 earning the coveted Climate+ Gold EPEAT rating.

Industry milestones

PPDS’ total solutions’ strategy has also seen several additional solutions being added and updated to help bring greater levels of remote management and control to display fleets, such as on the Philips Wave platform, which received substantial time and energy saving updates earlier this year.

These actions have seen PPDS and its Philips Professional Display products achieve a series of important milestones, further validating its sustainability strategy, while also helping to educate and inspire change in its partners and customers.

Victoria Fox, Head of Global Communications, and author of the report, commented: “With the privilege that comes with being a market leader comes the responsibility of pioneering change for the better and supporting businesses everywhere forward. Empowering the industry not only with products that use less energy, that are made with materials from sustainable sources, and that can be more easily repaired, refurbished, recycled, reused – ultimately, reinvented – but also with the training, tools, information, and the inspiration needed to take those forward.”

2025 highlights

  • EcoVadis Platinum rating: As part of TPV, achieved Platinum rating for sustainability performance with EcoVadis – the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings.
  • EPEAT Climate+ Gold: The Philips Signage 3000 Series EcoDesign became the first signage display of its kind to achieve EPEAT Climate+ Gold certification.
  • Better accessible dvLED: The Philips Unite LED 6000 Series AIO was launched, bringing better accessible dvLED for business, plus a unique standby mode, using less than 0.5W of power.
  • TUI Sustainability Impact award: PPDS received a special commendation at the TUI Sustainability Impact awards for our work on energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Motivating new talent

In addition to reducing the energy consumption in current and future Philips Professional Displays, PPDS has also made it a mission to champion the topic further by speaking at key industry events, becoming a Preservation Partner of SAVe, while also helping to inspire and motivate new talent for future industry advances.

In 2025, PPDS was a founding supporter of the inaugural ISE Hackathon, a partnership which continued into ISE 2026, following its unprecedented success. Sponsoring the ‘Sustainability Track’ category, members of PPDS’ sustainability, product management, and sales teams devoted their time to support five groups of international students, who worked together over two intensive days. Their challenge – as set by PPDS – was to find solutions for a more sustainable, student focused approach across campus with digital displays.

PPDS remained in touch with the winners, including visits to the company’s Amsterdam HQ, with plans for 2026 and beyond being finalised to inspire future generations who will continue to reshape the industry.

The past year has reinforced that sustainability progress does not move forward on a simple linear path; instead, once the foundations are built and key barriers are removed, real change can accelerate.

Stefan explained: “Bringing this important topic forward at the industry’s flagship event created a platform to encourage more action in our own industry and, better still, to inspire the next generation of talent into AV.”

He concluded: “As we look ahead, our work in 2025 provides a strong platform for continued progress. By consolidating the advances already achieved and unlocking new opportunities and programs, we are expanding our ability to support partners and customers on their sustainability journeys. The result is not only reduced energy consumption and emissions – it contributes to a more resilient and future ready AV industry.”
