UMusic and Universal Music Group to Open 150-Room Hotel and 600 Residences in Austin on 71-Acre Site

🏨 UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, in partnership with Universal Music Group, will open its first hotel with residences in Austin. The five-star UMusic Hotel & Private Residences Austin will feature 150 guest rooms and 600 private residences on a 71-acre site. White Rocks is the owner and developer. Over 70% of the site will remain green, supporting Austin’s 100% water reuse goal. The development will include an amphitheater, studios, and entertainment amenities.

Designed by OZ Architecture with sustainable features, the project aligns with Steamboat Resort's $220 million Full Steam Ahead initiative.

This expansion will help Design Hotels, part of Marriott International, exceed 100 hotels in the Americas. Founded in 2008, Palisociety runs more than 20 hotels and properties. New members will benefit from Design Hotels and Marriott services, including joining Marriott Bonvoy soon.

Whitbread Reports 2% Increase in Group Sales to £727m, Premier Inn UK and Germany Drive Growth

🏨 Whitbread, a hospitality group, reported a 2% rise in total group sales to £727m for the 13 weeks ending 28 May 2026, driven by Premier Inn's performance in the UK and Germany. UK accommodation sales grew by 3%, with London seeing a 7% increase. In Germany, sales rose 13% locally and 16% in sterling, with six new hotels opened. Food and beverage sales declined by 3%. The group aims to generate £2bn of free cash flow by FY31.
