Amazon will now be sending shoppers straight to a brand’s website when it doesn’t stock their products

  • By Craig Hale
  • 3 March 2025
📦 Amazon is testing a feature to redirect users to other brands’ websites when a product is out of stock. The Seattle-based company, with over 300 million items for Prime delivery and hundreds of millions of products sold, is trialing this in the Amazon Shopping app for an undisclosed subset of U.S. customers on iOS and Android. Rajiv Mehta, Amazon’s VP of search and conversational shopping, states the initiative aims to improve customer shopping experience and selection. Brands with 'Buy with Prime' can still offer benefits like customer support and fast delivery. Feedback will determine the feature's wider rollout.
