The restaurant industry is projected to reach $1.5 trillion in sales this year

Approximately 80% of consumers express more frequent restaurant use if affordable, with 81% for table service and 76% for quick-service. About 29% of operators plan to open new locations in 2025, with limited-service more likely at 35% compared to full-service at 22%. Employment is projected to rise by over 200,000 jobs, reaching nearly 16 million by the year’s end. The trends for 2025 include value, loyalty, experience, and technology, with 95% of operators noting increased customer value-consciousness and 65% investing in digital marketing.

Signing Announcement: DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square

Olo Partners with FreedomPay, Expands In-Store Capabilities of Olo Pay

💸 Bob W, in partnership with environmental consultancy Furthr, developed a tool, ‘LEGIT’, to provide detailed environmental impact metrics, revealing hotel carbon emissions are at least five times higher than previously estimated. The HCMI standard, used by over 30,000 operators, including Hyatt and Marriott, is now deemed less comprehensive. LEGIT factors in additional impacts like construction materials and food waste. Bob W’s Koti Katajanokka in Finland saw emissions per night leap from 1.48 kgCO₂e to 19.7 kgCO₂e with the new tool. Bob W's portfolio carbon footprint for 2023 is reported at 4,489 tCO₂e, a 90% increase from 2022, paralleling a 200% portfolio growth. Red Sea Global introduces Red Sea Residences

🙂 Red Sea Global (RSG) launches Red Sea Residences, a luxury residential subsidiary offering homes along the Saudi Red Sea coast. Shura Residences, the first development, is on Shura Island with handovers by end 2025, featuring 11 resorts, an 18-hole golf course, and access to beaches and marinas. Properties include SLS Residences (15 units from 130-423 sqm) and Four Seasons Signature Residences (75 villas from 414-534 sqm). Shura Marina Residences offers 36 apartments (190-364 sqm). The Red Sea opened to guests in 2023, with five hotels and Red Sea International Airport, which started domestic flights in September 2023 and international flights in April 2024.
