Chicago, IL, 29 June 2026 — America250 celebrations are causing an uptick in bookings for the Fourth of July weekend in historic cities across the US, according to new market data from revenue management software PriceLabs.
With the holiday falling on a Saturday this year, travelers are making the most of the weekend activities. Williamsburg, VA, leads for vacation rental demand, as booked nights have jumped 74% compared to the same time last year, followed closely by Philadelphia, PA (+64%), and Washington, D.C. (+53%). Other historic cornerstones such as Boston, MA (+14%), Savannah, GA (+12%) and Charleston, SC (+8%) are also seeing steady growth, bolstered by the America250 activities planned in these cities.
While historic areas are seeing strong demand, Florida beach spots remain popular choices for the holiday weekend. Miami is seeing an impressive 90% increase in booked nights year-over-year, boosted also by the FIFA World Cup game in town on July 3rd, while Fort Lauderdale has recorded a 51% surge in booked nights. Inland, Orlando is seeing a 60% increase in booked nights.
Pricing and Urban Performance
The heightened demand is also pushing prices up in many cities. Philadelphia leads the growth with an 84% jump in average rates compared to last year, with Atlanta (+45%), Seattle (+42%), and Miami (+42%) following closely.
For travelers seeking value, Orlando remains a more affordable option due to strong supply, with average nightly rates currently at $176. For historic cities, Savannah remains competitive with an average price of $259, a slight 1% decrease from 2025.

“The Fourth of July is always a popular holiday, but this year’s America250 celebrations and the holiday falling on a Saturday are supporting even stronger than usual demand. We are seeing a shift toward historic destinations where heritage and holiday festivities intersect.
“As occupancy tightens in these historic cities, we’re seeing rates respond accordingly. Operators in these markets are seeing strong RevPAR, delivering a welcome boost to markets beyond the FIFA World Cup footprint.”
