🏨 Canada Q2 2026: Hotel construction reaches a record 345 projects/47,874 rooms, a 4% project increase YOY. Early planning has 178 projects/25,422 rooms, accounting for 52% of the pipeline. Ontario leads with 190 projects/27,627 rooms. Toronto tops cities with 71 projects/11,495 rooms. New project announcements double with 26 projects/3,594 rooms. Sixteen new hotels with 1,718 rooms opened in H1 2026. Forecasts predict 38 new hotels by 2026 end and 46 by 2028.

🏨 Preferred Hotels & Resorts expanded its global portfolio with 10 new properties from April 1 to June 30, 2026. Locations include Bali, U.S. Virgin Islands, Kenya, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, and the UAE. Highlights: The Botany (U.S. Virgin Islands) with 20 villas, The Meru Sanur (Bali) with 184 suites, Ilora Retreats (Kenya) with 14 tented suites, Via Antwerp (Belgium) with 176 rooms, and MYTHIC SANA (Lisbon) with 48 rooms. Over six million travelers use the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program.

🏨 The Manhattan hotel, located on Park Avenue South, will soon feature new amenities by Tao Group Hospitality. Expect oversized guestrooms, a rooftop pool and lounge, and a unique Wellness Penthouse.

🏨 Viceroy Hotels returns to New York City in December 2026 with Viceroy Park Avenue at Park Avenue South and 29th Street, NoMad. The hotel features 252 rooms, including four presidential suites with sizes up to 2,100 sq ft, and offers a rooftop pool, spa, and 15,000 sq ft of event space. The project is a joint venture with Highgate, Tao Group Hospitality, and BGO. The hotel is designed by Meyer Davis Studio.

🌴 RESET Hotel in Twentynine Palms, California, joins Marriott Bonvoy's Outdoor Collection, marking the first new brand addition since September 2025. Located near Joshua Tree National Park, the 65-room hotel is the first built in the area in over 15 years. Features include private patios, stargazing platforms, and wellness amenities like a saltwater pool and sauna. Collaborations include astronomy events with ex-NASA astronomers. The hotel aims to enhance the desert experience while maintaining its unique vision.

🏨 Denver-based Stonebridge has added the JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown to its portfolio after a recent renovation. The 237-room hotel features a rooftop pool, spa, and over 15,000 sq ft of meeting space. Located in downtown Atlanta, it offers access to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Georgia Aquarium. Upgraded amenities include redesigned rooms and new dining options. Stonebridge aims to enhance profitability through strategic management.

📈 Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. reported Q2 2026 results with $482M net income and $1,054M adjusted EBITDA. Diluted EPS was $2.10, adjusted to $2.29. The company's development pipeline increased by 6% to 541,300 rooms. 24,100 rooms were added, marking a 6.1% net growth. Notable openings include Conrad Athens The Ilisian. Hilton's capital return reached $966M for Q2 and $2.034B year-to-date. Full-year RevPAR is projected to rise 3-3.5%.

🍳 Kerridge’s Bar and Grill in Corinthia London will close on August 2, 2026, for a redesign, adding a dedicated bar and intimate dining space. It will reopen in early September 2026. The venue, opened in 2018 by chef Tom Kerridge, is part of the hotel's food and beverage operations since 2011 in Westminster. Kerridge also runs The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, and has authored 14 cookbooks. More details on the relaunch will be announced soon.

🏨 Travelodge opened a 73-room hotel in Wakefield city centre, marking its third property in the area and the 21st in the region. The hotel features a new self-service food and beverage concept, including a hot pizza vending machine. Travelodge signed a 25-year lease as part of its expansion strategy. Situated near Trinity Walk Shopping Centre and Wakefield train station, the opening has created 16 jobs and reflects the brand's modernization and city centre investment strategy.
